I can't imagine what life would be like
If I could not dream dreams with you in them.
I could not bear to live through trudging time
Or listen well to thoughts of fellow man.
I wake up ev'ry day thinking of you
I pray I'll see you, once at least, each day;
But I could never say the things, or do
The things that in my dreams turn old and grey.
I need my dreams to keep my hope alive
That I may one day hold you in my arms.
I need a goal to shoot for and to strive
To fight off things reality has marred.
And as I waste my time thinking of you,
My dreams must live so that they may turn true.
This is a sonnet I'm writing for English class. Requirements? It has to be a sonnet. Okay. So I'd like critique and comments; after all, I am being graded on this!! I could definitely use some help before turning it in...
